Nicole Johnston (she/her) is the Project Manager of the Suicide Prevention Collaborative of El Paso County. Nicole began her career as a legislative aide in Madison, Wisconsin. Since then, she managed various consumer advocacy programs with a focus on health care policy, community organizing and cultural competency. 

Nicole was previously a small business owner providing program consulting, strategic planning facilitation and grant writing services to nonprofit organizations. She has also been an advocate for military families for the last 15 years and served as the Marine Family Liaison at Buckley Air Force Base. Elected to the Aurora City Council in November 2017, she also served as Mayor Pro Tem in 2020.

Nicole graduated in December 2020 from the University of Colorado Denver with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and enjoys quality time with her three children and two dogs.
