Lauren Burrus

Chief Financial Officer

Originally from Northeast Ohio, Lauren (she/her) comes to CHP with over 11 years of accounting, finance, budgeting, and human resources experience in the for-profit, non-profit, and government sector. As a relationships-driven leader, she seeks to find unity, unique ways to collaborate, and develop a team with a glass half full approach. Initially an Art major in college, Lauren uses her creative energy to find solutions and bring others together. Lauren is also passionate about being a part of something greater than herself in life, being a voice for the marginalized, and always doing the right thing even if it may be unpopular or unseen.

In addition to her professional experience, Lauren has been a proud military spouse for 23 years and has devoted countless hours serving soldiers and her fellow military families. The journey one endures in the ever-changing environment of the military has had a profound effect on Lauren. These experiences planted seeds of strength and resiliency that have over time produced harvests to help Lauren overcome future obstacles and challenges both personally and professionally.

Lauren holds a BBA in Accounting from Northeastern State University, serves as the Treasurer on the Operations Board for Silver Key Senior Services, and is a member of the 2025 UCCS Leadership Pikes Peak Signature Program. Lauren has also been awarded the Order of Saint Joan D’Arc, the Order of Molly Pitcher, and the Lady Victory Award for her volunteer work with the US military.

In Lauren’s free time, she enjoys being with family, friends, and pets; gardening, playing and listening to music; and immersing herself in all that Colorful Colorado has to offer.
